• When Maura O’Connell sings she inhabits music that reflects the passing of time and experiences with an authenticity that speaks to the soul of everyone who hears her magical voice.
Minton Sparks, one of the nation’s most important spoken word poets, devotes her show to anecdotes of her “checkered past,” humorously—and sometimes painfully—reminding us that none of us are too far removed from needing help.
Mary Gauthiers earthy musical style exposes a life that began at adoption, found itself behind bars at 18, and sobriety at 35. In her own words, she “figured out that the most intimate part of [her] is the most universal part” of her and that her job is to “reveal that universal human experience.”

On Thursday, May 3 each performer is devoting her extraordinary talent to promote the need for mental healthcare in our community.

Visionary Voices is a purposeful event that supports LifeWork Counseling Practice.  You are invited to be part of fund-raising, friend-raising and awareness.

Why do we need you?  Williamson County has experienced phenomenal growth and mental healthcare needs have grown exponentially--faster than the funding resources currently available in our community.  LifeWork Counseling Practice is the critical link in helping to fortify and stabilize families.  Daily challenges include couples struggling to raise their families and be caregivers for their aging parents to loss, trauma, personal crisis, addiction or the newly single parent dealing with emotional ambivalence.  Hope to see you May 3rd!

At Family & Children's Service, we are always seeking ways to enrich and improve our services - and to keep our generous donors informed of our progress and success. So whether you're looking for the latest news or want to learn more about an upcoming FCS event, you'll find it here. That includes information about our annual fundraiser, FrivoliTIES.
